FAQ

Everything you need to know before you set sail with us. If you don't see your question here, reach out — we'd love to help.

What is included in a private sailing session?
Every session is fully private — just your group, a USCG master captain, and a Hobie Cat catamaran. Sessions run roughly three hours on the Intracoastal Waterway in Emerald Isle. Safety equipment is provided.
Do I need any sailing experience?
No experience needed. Our private lessons and cruise welcome everyone — from first-time sailors to seasoned crew.
Who is the captain?
Sessions are led by USCG Master Captain Zach — an ASA certified sailor with extensive experience sailing Hobie Cats on the waters of Emerald Isle.
How many people can come?
Our catamaran has a maximum of 850 pounds of riders. Sessions are ideal for couples, families, and small groups.
How long is each session?
Plan for approximately three hours on the water, including a brief orientation before we set sail.
What should I bring? What should I wear?
Wear clothing you don't mind getting wet, secure footwear (or go barefoot), sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses with a strap. Bring water and a towel. We'll provide the safety equipment.
What if the weather isn't safe?
Safety always comes first. If conditions become unsafe — wind, storms, lightning, small craft advisories — we may need to reschedule. You are never penalized for weather cancellations. We'll work with you to find another date that works.
How do I book?
Book by phone at (252) 515-4775 or by email. If we don't answer, we're likely sailing — leave your name, phone number, and when you're in town, and we'll return your call as soon as possible.
Do you offer gift cards?
Yes. Choose an amount at checkout and we'll email a one-time card code. Gift cards can be used toward cruises or lessons. See the Gift Cards page for details.
Where do we meet?
6800 Emerald Drive, Emerald Isle, NC 28594. We'll share specific meeting details when you book.
